Transform Schools, Champion Students

Do you want to ensure good outcomes for our students?

Join us as Dr. David Hornbeck, Strong Schools Maryland Executive Committee member and former Maryland State Schools Superintendent, discusses the Kirwan Commission’s recommendations on transforming public education.

We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to establish a world-class education for Maryland’s children.

Strong Schools Maryland is forming “Teams of 10,” where each team member sends two letters per month for the next three months to champion new levels of funding, new educational practices and new accountability measures to state legislators and the governor.

As we learn how we can act to better nourish the brains of our students, we will also learn about how Lynne Kahn, LBC ’18 and founder of Baltimore Hunger Project, is nourishing the bodies of children identified as food insecure by providing ready-to-eat, nutritious food over the weekends. We’ll help support Baltimore Hunger Project by creating notes of encouragement for the food packages.

Please bring a gift card to a supermarket or Sam’s Club to support Baltimore Hunger Project. Think of it as your admission price to this free event, which is open to all.
